I was working on a photo yesterday when Rwah IM’d me. We chatted for a while, with her telling me she was finally getting her sim together, and shared raw shots of photos we were working on back and forth. I was struggling with an angle and set to showcase the dress from Apple May Designs I am wearing, but Rwah just didn’t get it. Honestly, neither did I (it wasn’t this photo, by the way).

She had told me that I should come to see what she had done already, but not to go into the kitchen – it was “a bit of a mess.” Then she told me to get off my platform and use her kitchen to shoot my photo. With trepidation, I TP’d over and into the glorious, gore-fest she had created. The stuff from which nightmares spawn. Telling me to make myself at home, she then proceeded to leave me all alone in this room where horror is the recipe and terror is the final dish. Below is a (pardon the expression), raw shot of her kitchen.

I couldn’t quite bring myself to do it.

Not only am I the kind of person that watches horror movies with squinted eyes between barely-splayed fingers of one hand while gripping the thigh of my companion with claw-like talons of the other, I was suffering from that Second Life phenomenon known as texture refresh. Yes, the textures on the baby, blood and table cloth kept refreshing, making the fabric and skin appear to crawl like thousands of maggots were just beneath the surface, struggling to get out. And come at me.

No. Just NO.

So I plopped myself down in the rather safe confines of the parlour next door and included just a glimpse of the gruesome scene next door. If I pretend it’s not there, it’s not…right?

There ya go, sis. I got off my platform. Ya happy now? 😛

1 Market Day

The apples are picked, the harvest is done. Now it’s just a waiting game until I can load my wares and head to the market.

If I were my mother, I would have made apple butter and pressed cider to take along; but I’m afraid those skills passed with her. Instead, I’ll just sell the fruit, fresh from the trees. They are juicy and sweet, with just a bit of a tart bite to them – perfect, in other words.

And no, I didn’t do my picking in this outfit; it is special, just for Market Day. I have donned my new hat from JfL, and of course, these boots from fri.day are made just for looking pretty in; I would have scuffed the heels if I had tried to climb a ladder while wearing them!

The hat is a new release you can find at the JfL Hats mainstore and the boots are available at the September round of Collabor88.

Before I go, I will let you in on a secret. I tucked a dozen or so apples aside in my kitchen for when I return. I may not be able to make cider, but my mother’s pie recipe is one that I have ingrained in my memory.

This was a very happy, very busy weekend for me! I was accepted to blog for two of my very favourite, all-time, super-in-love-with stores, fri.day and [ keke ]! I have blogged plenty of their stuff before, simply because they are two of my very favourite, all-time, super-in-love-with stores, but being all official and stuff just made my weekend 🙂

On top of that Salt & Pepper has just released this awesome corset for We < 3 Roleplay. It all combined to spur me to create a surrealistic bakery dream/nightmare scene. Oh, the joy, the horror of being surrounded by a dozen cakes and being torn between the temptation of diving face first into these delectable tortes or denying myself the pleasure so I still fit into these leggings!

Meh, screw it. They’re stretchy.
