Remnants of a Circus

1 Remnants of the Circus-1

I honestly thought I was “circused-out” after doing a full month of circus-inspired photos for Cirque de Seraphim in November. So when The Challenge introduced its theme of “Fairground/Circus” for this month, I admit I sighed. Not being a role-player or heavily into themed decor, I was a bit reticent about blogging even more Big Top stuff.

But then, I took a look at what the designers have come up with, and I was quietly delighted. I fell in love with the organ from 22769 ~ [bauwerk] with it’s muted hues and loving detail. When you play one of the included three songs, the crank on the left side even turns! I also adore the circus dresser and mirror from *Essay*, a new-to-me store. There are three poses included in the dresser and this will fit into even a non-circus setting.

I can’t imagine that anyone would leave these behind, but it seems they have been dumped by the wayside. Perhaps the Ringmaster was a bit shady and made a hasty retreat from town. Better for the villagers that these were the remnants of the circus, and not the lions or tigers or bears…

Oh my.

Pretty stuff I’m showing off:

Shopping Restraint

1 Shopping Restraint1

I ain’t got any. Just sayin’.

But if you’re setting up a store in Second Life, be sure you don’t miss this round of The Challenge. The theme is “Shopping” and there are tons of goodies for your shop, like these security gates by 22769 ~ [bauwerk] (cuffs not included). I even brought along my shopping list, compliments of Kuro, but I can’t get in!

The cute little shop is by [Black Tulip] and perfect for a first-time business owner. In fact, it’s so perfect it’s called “My First Store.”

But don’t listen to me; go hit the stores and see for yourself. Just be warned; if someone offers to show you some special bracelets, grab your credit card and RUNNNNNNNN!

Colour My World

1 Colourful

As time goes on,
I realize
Just what you mean
To me
And now,
Now that you’re near,
Promise your love
That I’ve waited to share
And dreams
Of our moments together
Color my world with hope of loving you

~ Lyrics from “Colour My World” by Chicago

It’s a kind of sad and haunting love song, but how many tunes do you know that have an epic flute solo?

If you need a little colour to brighten your life, make sure you visit the stores participating in this month’s round of The Challenge. The post isn’t up quite yet with all of the lovely, colourful creations, but keep checking – the event has just opened so you can just store-hop to see all of the goodies.

[Black Tulip] brings you this colourful cat-themed set, and 22769 ~ [bauwerk] offers the boudoir chair in several eye-popping colours. Kuro gives us not only the mind-blowing artwork as part of a colourful set (with a chair I’m not showing) plus the adorable Fishing Cat clock at this month’s OneWord event, set to open on September 1st.

Go forth. Colour your world. With cats and bright hues.

Flutes are kinda sad, ya know 😉
