Secrets Into The Wind

I did a bit of wandering yesterday in Second Life. I visited several sims and took photos at them all. Some will make it into my blog; others will probably just sit in a folder until one day I reopen it to see what I have seen. I love immersing myself in others creativity and while I do that on a regular basis with fashion and the occasional H&G post, I am usually most inspired when I do a bit of traveling.

When I land on a destination sim, I always start with the region Windlight setting. I want to understand the mood the creator tries to convey. I also make sure I have my stream running to soak up the sounds that accompany the landscape. And then I roam, just looking for a while, and usually end up taking pictures. When I do this, I try to create a story with the images that I share.

I felt a bit whimsical in the outfit I chose and that suited de*cid*u*ous, a pastoral location. It seemed a good place to whisper a few secrets and allow them to dance in the wind.

And at one point, I do believe it whispered back.

I logged in to Second Life yesterday, and while sorting through inbound goodies, I stumbled upon a notecard.

Congratulations!! You have been nominated for a 2017 BVN Blogger and Vlogger Award in the following categories:

♥♥ Best Female Fashion Blogger

To say that I was stunned and honoured is an understatement of epic proportions. While I have been nominated for awards in the past, I was especially humbled by these nominations because I have had some real life issues in the last year which have affected my ability to blog. Without going into detail, it is harder and harder for me to compose and edit photographs. I still find pleasure in blogging, though, so I will continue as long as I feel I can do justice to the works of the wonderfully talented creators of Second Life. One day I will come to the decision that I no longer feel my work is up to my own standards and I will retire. I probably won’t stop taking photos; I just won’t publish them.

The categories for which I was nominated are tabulated votes by the judging panel. In other words, you won’t be able to vote for me yourself. However, there are several other categories that are eligible for public vote. I encourage you to visit the BVN website and cast your votes for some extremely talented vloggers and bloggers. Between September 15th and September 30th, we will be opening the ballots to allow people to vote for all categories. Please encourage your friends and followers to vote on the BVN website before September 30th. The following image is attached for your convenience. This isn’t an unfamiliar sight at my place. Curled up with a book while my cat cuddles me. The only difference is that’s a Kindle instead of an actual book, but that’s a minor point.

The theme for the September round of The Liaison Collaborative is “Literary-ly”. There are loads of reading-inspired items available. Some, like the pose set from Le Poppycock are more literal, while others, such as my gown, earrings and rings are inspired more figuratively. All are delightful; all are divine.

I have to say, though, that my favourite item from this round is the Rose LeLutka Applier from *Birth*. I know I said just a few days ago that I had found my new look, but then I tried on this skin. New. Instant. Fave.

I have long been a fan of *Birth*, and this new release is a classic example of why. Beautiful texturing and tone, great lip, eyeliner and makeup options, and just so lovely. I think I’m as pretty as a picture in this skin.

I’m perfectly poised in it, just like my literary kitty.
