Tomorrow officially begins the Halloween season, which also brings one of the biggest annual events in Second Life, Salem. Full of horror and beauty, this celebration of the macabre is one of the hottest tickets in town.

Salt & Pepper doesn’t disappoint. With two releases, including the Lisha necklace I am wearing, she seamlessly joins the beautiful and the macabre. This unearthly choker is HUD driven with all colours included – bone, bone blood stained, gold, silver, pewter, black, rose gold and light gold.

Slip it around your neck and feel the shivers as you are caressed.

I think it’s wonderful to find accessories designed for the Water Horse Riding Horse at mainstream events. Jinx has once again done this at The Liaison Collaborative. This time it is a side saddle and a dress that works with it. The top is an Omega applier and the skirt is pretty much one-size-fits all and comes with a colour-change HUD. You will need to alpha out your legs and possibly your pelvis (like I did), but it makes for a lovely ensemble. Best of all, the saddle comes with versions for both the Warmblood (English) and Quarter Horse (Western). Since there are a lot more accessories for the Quarter Horse available, this is very welcome news for us Warmblood owners!

Also good to know for Water Horse owners is that Calas Galadhon Park has riding trails set up all throughout the sims. There is a particularly long coastal trail that covers the full perimeter of the park. And for those of you who don’t own a horse, they have rezzers in some of the sims, including double riders so you can enjoy the park with your loved one or friend. Do remember that these sims are maintained for our use by two individuals, so if you are able, please leave a donation to assist with the upkeep at one of the several donation stations set up throughout the park.

When riding along the trails, there are lots of places to stop and enjoy the scenery. I just happened to do it here, on the edge of forever.

I wasn’t even afraid to look down.

Secrets Into The Wind

I did a bit of wandering yesterday in Second Life. I visited several sims and took photos at them all. Some will make it into my blog; others will probably just sit in a folder until one day I reopen it to see what I have seen. I love immersing myself in others creativity and while I do that on a regular basis with fashion and the occasional H&G post, I am usually most inspired when I do a bit of traveling.

When I land on a destination sim, I always start with the region Windlight setting. I want to understand the mood the creator tries to convey. I also make sure I have my stream running to soak up the sounds that accompany the landscape. And then I roam, just looking for a while, and usually end up taking pictures. When I do this, I try to create a story with the images that I share.

I felt a bit whimsical in the outfit I chose and that suited de*cid*u*ous, a pastoral location. It seemed a good place to whisper a few secrets and allow them to dance in the wind.

And at one point, I do believe it whispered back.
