1 A Snowy Winter's Night

Today I am back to work after 11 luxurious days off. In fact, I am sipping my coffee, trying desperately to wake up as this posts. Knowing how long it takes me to reach a state of wakefulness, I cleverly wrote this last night. Otherwise, I probably would have forgotten all about this photo by the time I get around to blogging again.

I have really enjoyed blogging regularly – almost every day – over the last week and a half. As I mentioned before, I have stockpiled a few extra photos so I can try to get a couple more done during the week. This one was taken in December, though, and I have already moved all of my “By the Month” folders from 2014 into the annual folder and started on January 2015. I have no doubt if I don’t use it now, it will be forgotten.

That would be a shame, because I really like it. I made a few trips to Let It Snow! during my holidays. It really is a pretty sim; peaceful, festive and welcoming. If you get a chance, do drop by.

Unfortunately, when I head out to work, it won’t be in the cold of winter (walking, in the dark, uphill – both ways). I won’t say I would enjoy driving in the snow, but I would certainly appreciate a break from the heat!

I’ll be back at some point during the week, but I’m not sure when. You know how it is getting back into the grind of work after time off. At least most of the bosses are away for another week, so I can actually get some work done 😉

When I saw this dress by =Zenith= available at this round of Uber, I had to have it. It is feminine and soft and has luxuriously silky textures; just the kind of dress I love. I had visions of a romantic photo, showing her longing for her love in the moonlight.

I have spent three days working on various versions of the image, and to me, she still looks like a deranged woman in an asylum, begging to be let out.

Oh well, even a lunatic deserves to look beautiful.

1 Trailer Trash Princess

Sometimes she actually gets out…even if it means hanging out at the bus stop, waiting for a ride.

I shot this photo at my sister, Rwah‘s sim, square pegs in round holes. You may remember it from previous posts where I shot there, but it is nothing like it was before. From a desolate beach to a small, forgotten desert town, she has teamed with her friend, Jordy Zipdash to create this eerie, but oddly inviting location. She has reopened it to the public and will have a new Flickr group coming soon. I’ll link to the group when she gets it set up, because she is re-introducing square pegs with a juried photo contest! The contest will run through January 31, with the winner receiving 1000L, second place winning 750L and third receiving 500L.

There is no need to wait until the Flickr group is open to head over and start shooting, though. Edit: It’s open now! Rwah is generously allowing people to rez on the sim, if you need additional props or to set poseballs or lights, with a 30 minute auto-return. Please be polite and don’t overdo it on the props; the sim is fabulous as it is and it is always the best policy to pack out what you pack in and who needs a crowded Lost & Found folder, anyway? You no longer need to be a group member for rez privileges, a rarity for the ravenous location photographer.

If you stop by, make sure you say howdy to the folks; I’m sure they’re missing me by now.
