Hi. My name is Peep and this is my blog. Pleased to see you here 🙂

I am reintroducing myself because I have been away for so long that I was worried some of you might have forgotten me. Real Life has been a whirlwind of change which has kept me largely out of Second Life and when I have been in, I haven’t had the chance to take any photos. The RL changes will prevent me from blogging as often as I have been, but I am hoping to manage to get up at least three posts a week. I hope that absence has made your hearts grow fonder and you will bear with me while I transition to this new schedule.

The changes also extend to Second Life; after having my showroom and studio in the same location for about a year, I have just moved to a new location! I can now be found on the 5th Avenue sim; quite posh, don’t you think? 😀 The photo is of me sitting in my new digs. It is very different from the old studio…Rwah says it is “grown-up Peep’s place.” I don’t know about the grown-up part, but it is definitely a major change for me. Please feel free to drop by anytime. I still need to do a bit more decorating but it is open and ready for visitors to stop in.

I can’t do this post without mentioning that I was recently interviewed for the LUMIPro blog! Sammie Ansar, the Social Media Director for LUMIPro was such a sweetheart to talk to. She was extremely patient with me, working diligently to accommodate the time zone vagaries. I was thrilled with the final result. If you have followed my blog at all you know I am a huge proponent of LUMIPro and I was honoured to be asked to share my experiences with their followers.

The outfit and shoes I am wearing are gifts from Sammie’s business partner, UkeMochi of Mochi Styles. I just adore this outfit; in fact, I have been wearing it for a week! (Don’t freak out, Cao…I send it out to the cleaner’s every night 😉 ) I am happy to show off these goodies not just because I love them, but because they are kind-hearted people. When a good friend of ours who suffers from MD was recently hospitalized my friend Sammie Ansar of Sweet as Honey Designs joined together with me to help. A percentage of everything we sell will go into a fund to help him with medical cost and personal needs.

Wet

Apologies for my absence. I’ve been a bit under the weather the last few days, but I’m perking up and nothing made me feel better than the new release from *ARGRACE* called HIKARI. It’s wet. Yep, it really does look like wet hair! I paired it with one of my very few must-haves from Summerfest ’14, this bathing suit from Valentina E. All I needed to do was dive into the ocean and start snapping!

Well, not exactly. While the hair does look wet, the suit and my skin didn’t. Fortunately, I recently watched a video tutorial on using the Plastic Wrap filter in the Photoshop Filter Gallery to mimic wet surfaces. Once I had done my basic edits, I applied the filter followed by a layer mask to remove and lighten parts of the effect, tossed in a few extra water droplets and came up with the final image. This is the first time I have used this filter and added water drops with a brush and I was rather pleased with the result. You can flick over to my Flickr stream to see a higher resolution photo.

Time to go towel off now…who wants to dry my back? 😉

A trip up to the attic to clear out the cobwebs turns into a visit down memory lane. She can hear the whispers of forgotten ancestors in the letters and mementos she finds. This is not junk to be discarded; this is a personal history of those who have passed.
