A Summer Classic

The title of this post is a bit ironic, considering I am sitting in front of my computer in layers of clothes, trying to stay warm as the temperature hovers slightly above freezing. Although it is winter in Australia, Hair Fair 2017 is a Second Life summer classic that you can’t miss. If you click the link in the previous sentence, you will go directly to an incredible post that gives you not only a map of the fair, but also previews of the designs available, along with SLurls directly to the stores. After the cut below, I have a list of the store SLurls, but I certainly can’t match the work on the Hair Fair blog. It is an incredibly detailed post, but by viewing the images, you can easily work out your plan of attack. Once you are there, your navigation is simplified by colour-coded shutters on the buildings and guys, you can easily identify the shops with male styles by the hovering ♂ symbol above the store.

The hair I am featuring is from [DUE] at Hair Fair 2017 and is one of a huge number of short, flirty styles available this year. The fringe (bangs, wisps) are a separate attachment, so you actually have two hairstyles in one. It is a perfect summer hairstyle with a carefree look, and one of my personal favourites.

I have teamed it with two summer classics from Just *BECAUSE*: the shorts, which are now out at FaMESHed and the tube top that is still available at Collabor88. The shorts come in both a lace and solid version, so it’s a great two-for-one purchase. The tube top is nostalgic yet contemporary and a great, versatile piece for your wardrobe.

Make sure you check out the credits below to find all the details on some amazing summer classics.

On The Threshold

We are finally on the threshold of Hair Fair 2017. It starts in just a few hours (midnight, if I’m not mistaken). In the meantime, I have a couple of things you can do to keep you occupied.

First, visit Japonica. This is a themed event that celebrates the Japanese culture. The Niche dress from Salt & Pepper is a beautiful example. The flowers across the bodice preserve your modesty, despite the sheer top. The dress can be purchased in either single colours and of course, the amazing fatpack. The flowers are colour-change via HUD and with the fatpack you can mix and match the tones of the bodice, waist and skirt for your favourite combination.

After you have completed your shopping excursion, you need to join the free Hair Fair demo group, to get you ready for your shopping spree. To join, copy and paste the following into local chat in Second Life and join the Hair Fair DEMO Group

The designers are loading this group so you can choose your favourites before heading out to shop. With four full sims, that’s a lot of designers and a lot of demos! Best of all, a portion of all proceeds go to Wigs for Kids, a fabulous charity that donates wigs to children with illnesses or treatments that cause hair loss. Hair Fair is a wonderful way to feel good about spending your money, knowing that you will be helping to make a difference in a child’s life.

Step over the threshold; you have things to do.

New Beginnings, Happy Endings

I honestly can’t believe that 2017 is half over! We passed the winter solstice here in Australia about a week ago and are heading toward spring. July will soon be upon us.

The end of June is a new beginning for the mega-event, Uber. It has been open for just a few days with a Camping theme and *Just BECAUSE* has this great tank top that is designed to fit perfectly with a pair of shorts. Another late-in-the-month event is the subscription box, BishBox, which releases at noon on the 20th of each month. Those shorts I mentioned are from the June round and come in three delicious leather textures. It’s not too late to head to the BishBox Headquarters and grab your box (3000L post-release vs. 1500L pre-release).

The happy ending I mentioned is The Arcade, where you can pick up these adorable sandals from fri.day. What is happy about this? Well, for the next few days (until June 30th) you can easily get into the event to try your luck at the most popular gacha event on the grid. No desperate multiple TP attempts, no waiting ages for things to rez and all of the glorious gacha goodies for the taking! Well, for the buying. But let’s not quibble over semantics…

It’s all about the happy endings.
