Cold Chills

In my last post, I showed you some unexpected items from Salt & Pepper; the lovely ornaments available at Tannenbaum. Today I’m back to showing the more expected offerings from Salt: this gorgeous, cuddly coat, also available at Tannenbaum. Not only does it keep away the cold chills, it attracts attention. While I was shooting this photograph I was asked by two different people where I got it. I could sense as soon as I slipped it on that it was a winner, and my experience bears that out.

Something that is a bit more unusual for Annie Melson is this pair of snug boots from *Just BECAUSE* at Uber. While Annie isn’t known for her shoe-making, these certainly are testament to her talent. They fit perfectly and with the flat heels are just what is needed to venture out on an icy, slick path.

These are both just what you need to keep the cold chills at bay.

1-holiday-hearth-home-sm

This is the type of scene that I miss most, living now in Australia. I am heading for my seventeenth Christmas down under, and it just doesn’t feel like the same holiday that it was in the USA. The cold air, warmed by a crackling fire, hot chocolate and the memories as each precious ornament is unwrapped, dusted off and placed lovingly on the tree. Cramming the living room with so many beautiful, shiny things that it is an adventure to get from one side of the room to the other.

Christmas on the beach? No thank you.

At least in Second Life, with the help of some fabulous creators, I can recreate the nostalgic feelings of those Christmases gone by.

1 A Winter's Eve sm

I’m sorry for the delay in posting the interior of the 22769 ~ [bauwerk] Little Winter Cottage (Snowtop) by Paco Pooley, available at Wayward Market Dec. 12, 2015 – Jan. 10, 2016. I just couldn’t quite get the photo to look the way I envisioned it. Two days and several hours later, here it is.

There are so many things in this room that I love – the decor, the furnishings, the puppies and the footie pajamas (although they are called Onesies by The Annex, if you’re shopping for them at Christmas on 34th Street). Many of the items come from Wayward Market and Christmas on 34th Street, so you can easily recreate this scene without having to jump all over the grid.

Be sure to check the credits for those other treasures to be found at other shops and events. You can while away your own winter’s eve.
