I was working on a different photo of the Freya skin from *Birth* for Skin Fair 2017 and as I often do, I asked for an opinion. Since my sis, crankygit was online, I asked her. She is always brutally honest in her feedback and I trust her implicitly. So, when she told me, “sis, you can do better,” I stopped right where I was. I popped over to see her and she whisked me into her house, tossed some chain link fencing behind me and within moments, she showed me this…
I hopped off the pose stand and while just hanging there in awe, I clicked off another shot. Different. Nice. It shows off the skin, which is absolutely stunning, and also a bit of mood. I have found that I tend to change up my style when I am doing photos for Skin Fair – straight shots instead of my usual style. I hope this one does the skin justice while allowing me to be true to who I am as a photographer.
The contouring of Freya is beautifully done and the eyes are just wow! So sleepy-sultry-sexy. I didn’t wear any other cosmetics; what you see are the natural eyes and lips that come with the skin. Of course, *Birth* has some wonderful cosmetics that I will try out with this skin, but for this shot, I wanted her to be just as she comes: beautiful and unadorned.
Cranky posted another version of her shot on her Flickr stream. Go see it here. I insist.
Two sisters. Two views.

I did go see the other picture both are great closeups and as you said, capture the emotion. The ‘fence background’ one works better showcasing your skin. Love the colour tones with your hair and how you tied it in with the bricks behind you. You are the shadow queen of course.
it really was all cranky for the set up. I just got lucky with a quick candid shot 🙂
