Two Ball In The Side Pocket

1 Two Ball in the Side Pocket sm

I went back to Bar Cafe Fabriken at Furillen to showcase Evelyn by Apple May Designs – this time, fully clothed 😉 It is a great location for hanging out and catching a few shots. All I’m missing in this photo is a pool shark in the background, trying to take his shot.

The dress is available at the Apple May mainstore and is elegant and sexy. Perfect for that uptown/downtown feel.

Rack ’em up and take your best shot.

Pretty stuff I’m showing off:

Simplicity

1 Jewel sm

I have always said I am a simple girl. I have simple wants with just a modicum of flair to keep me from being entirely beige in my needs. I don’t know if there is a polar opposite of “high maintenance,” but if there is, that’s me.

I like old things. I adore well-made but unadorned clothes. I like pastels and pretty little baubles. I don’t want candlelit dinners in fancy restaurants; I prefer eating takeout on the sofa while listening to music. I love odd numbered objects in asymmetrical patterns. I like birdsong on a spring day.

I don’t have high expectations: blessed are those who expect nothing, for they shall not be disappointed. I smile at puns – the badder the better. I would rather watch kittens play than go to the ballet.

I was honoured to be selected as a blogger for The Liaison Collaborative recently. I was thrilled that the first round is themed, “Simplicity.” It suits me.

The dress by Mimikri I am wearing is from this event. The setting is a sim called :::North BAROQUED::: – nagisa. They are both simple, pastel, and like birdsong on a spring day: perfect.

For me.

The Janitor of Furillen

1 The Janitor of Furillen sm

Anyone who says that Second Life is separate from real life is sadly mistaken. Whether you wander around as a nymph, Gorean warrior or super model, you are in some way reflecting the real you in a virtual world. Everything you touch, everything you create, everything you imagine is a little bit of who you are – or who you want to be.

For Serene Footman, his dose of reality comes in the form of recreating Furillen in Second Life. This hauntingly beautiful sim is his homage to the island off the coast of Sweden. This snippet from the Furillen in Second Life blog explains his vision:

Furillen is a sim within the virtual world, Second Life. It depicts an island off the north-east coast of Sweden containing abandoned industrial builds that were once part of a former limestone factory. Remote, bleak and beautiful, this is a Second Life photographers haven. The sim now attracts around 300 visitors per day.

The sim was designed to retain some of the most distinct and recognisable features of the real Furillen: the airstream, the tree line and pier, for example, together with the large slag heaps that still exist as a reminder of the old quarry. In addition, there are several buildings, the main being a hotel that – on the virtual Furillen – doubles up as an art space with a series of rooms featuring minimalist installations.

This is going to be a long, photo-heavy post, so if you care to join on my journey, please continue beyond the cut.
