1 Not Shabby At All 2 sm

Those of you who know me and my normal style will be shocked to learn that this is not just a set I built for a photo, but my own home. What, you say? That’s right – no retro, shabby chic look this time around, with not a speck of gingham or patchwork to be found. I’ve gone a bit more modern and eclectic, while still comfortable. Even the dog is more angular and sleek instead of fluffy and cute!

I intentionally didn’t allow a peek through the windows; I’m still struggling to let go of my country feel outside 😉

I added a few photos I had on hand to the frames from [ keke ] for Uber…since I could. That’s what they’re for. I’ll be working on shooting photos that fit the new feel of my home, rather than just making photos that I had fit. I plan to change them often; again…that’s what they’re for. They’re versatile and will work in any decor, which I love.

I’m not quite ready to stray too far from a cozy living space, but as an effort to move away from my comfort zone, I don’t think it’s too shabby at all.

1 Fantastical Dreams sm

No matter what you choose to have as your focus in Second Life, it can turn out to be your Fantastical Dreams. That is what riannlyn (Rainny Darkfury) and her sister, Nikki Lacey, have done. They have created a picturesque fantasy-styled sim to showcase their very real creative talents.

The sim is great for photos, socialising and just having fun. In Rainny’s own words:

It’s a place you can always come, visit, cuddle, play games, hangout, if you are in the group. To get into the group is a join fee of 250L. This also gives you rez rights – just remember to clean up after yourself. To join the group, copy & paste this link into local chat in world: secondlife:///app/group/33aca8e7-c6e0-8576-3275-ab2a0451a21c/about . Or, there is a group joiner board at the entrance.

I visited today, and I was delighted. It is a lovely place, just screaming to be photographed. “Ground level” is a water-filled fantasy with loads of places to stop and rest, or cuddle if you are with your partner. There is a series of floating islands that includes an area for games, another with a lovely lake and yet another with a gigantic tree house. It has some familiar items, but what I love the most is there are lots and lots of new and unfamiliar quality items. For instance, you will probably recognise the tree tunnel from Studio Skye, but you may not have yet seen the bed from Cheeky Pea, which was just released a few days ago. In other words, it is not a carbon copy of other sims on the grid, with just the props rearranged. I have created a slide show below to tempt you with the beautiful and whimsical scenery.

If you have any questions, you can IM Rainny or Nikki in world. The joining fee is not expensive, but it is just enough to keep griefers at bay. And it is a small price to pay for your very own fantastical dream.

Hair Fair 2016 is entering its second week. While the sims are still busy, it is now possible to get in directly. Do check out the styles from tram if you are looking for short, flirty styles. I picked up two, but there are at least five choices.

I still haven’t sent Chance yet, but I will before the event ends. After all, it may be a Gentlemen’s Club, but the lady rules.
