1 Laundry Day sm

That day we all dread. When we’re down to wearing our last clean pair of underwear. Waiting for the clothes to dry so we can start our “favourite” chore: ironing.

{what next} at least makes us look good while we’re completing this duty. The ironing board has been around for several years, but it has been updated to mesh. It has a lower land impact, rezzes more cleanly and looks even better than the original.

It still doesn’t make the clothes become wrinkle-free on their own, but at least we can do it in style.

I have taken a lot of photos in the last week. I mean, a lot, for me. Normally because work has me exhausted by the time I get home Monday through Friday, I rarely get into Second Life, so my weekends are catch up time for my blog. However, with two big events running right now – Vintage Fair and The Liaison Collaborative – I’ve been excited to shoot all of the beautiful items and have been pushing myself to go beyond the usual two or three photos I normally produce.

That being said, I still get a bit overwhelmed and sometimes resort to using my favourite location, rather than creating my own set. So yesterday, after having done three shoots already, I wandered over to Furillen to gather a bit of inspiration to soldier on.

Now, I hadn’t planned on using the billiard table when I arrived (in fact, someone else was there and leaning against it when I wandered into the room), but when he left, I scurried back down to claim my spot. I have done some serious (temporary) derendering in the room to create a more open space, but rest assured, all of Serene’s painstaking decorating will be there when I return.

This outfit just screams femininity. But one of the greatest attributes of any woman is to be able to combine her womanliness with a bit of the vamp. What says that more than an alluring pose on a billiard table? 😉

After the cut, I’ll give you a close-up of the hair, fascinator, necklace and bodice of the dress. They are definitely worth the extra look.

1 A Flock of Birds & A Jug of Roses sm

When I am in the middle of photographing a lot of review copies, I often find myself getting stressed. Not because I “have” to blog them, but because I am worried I won’t do them justice. I have been known to scrap entire shoots, which often take hours to stage and photograph. Those are typically the shoots that I know while I am photographing just aren’t right, but I tell myself with just one more light change or camera angle, I’ll get something usable. It is a rationalisation that rarely works.

That happened to me today. I had already completed two shoots (more posts to come!), and I wanted to get the Olivia Sandals from fri.day done. My previous two shoots were Home & Garden and just didn’t lend themselves to me being in the picture. So, I decided to sim-hop to find a perfect location.

After visiting about six and either not finding what I wanted or being lagged out, I headed home, deciding instead to build my own set. Which I did. Which I photographed.

Which I hated.

So, I gave up. And went shopping. Then decided to put together a set for some therapeutic “just because” photography. And guess what? I plopped my avi-self down, changed my camera angle to only take in a small portion of the space I had created and found my photo.

A flock of birds, a jug of roses and some kick-arse sandals.

I could have kept my mouth shut and you would have thought this was all planned. But hey…desperation is the mother of necessity.

Or however that saying goes…
