1 In Captivity sm

I have had a very busy, stressful time the last couple of weeks and it has shown in my Second Life time (very little) and inspiration (almost non-existent). I have felt as if I was captive to the anxiety, worry and exhaustion of real life. I’m not through all of it yet, but the worst is, thankfully, behind me.

With all of that on my mind, this scene finally piqued my creativity. I had been trying (desperately) to shoot the newest daring harness from Salt & Pepper. Salt actually got a giggle over my last harness encounter, and tempted me with the latest creation. I did a shot of just the harness itself, but I wasn’t satisfied with it. When I threw on the robe, all of a sudden things just fell into place.

Hair Fair 2016 Photo Contest & Bandana Day

There are only a few days left to enter the Hair Fair 2016 Photo Contest. Entries close on July 1st, so you really need to get snapping!

I have done two entries this year; I don’t think I’ll have time to do anymore, but the limit is five entries, so I have some wiggle room in case I get a bit of inspiration. The photos in this post are my two entries.

Even more important, kits are still available to create your own bandana for Bandana Day! Click the link for all of the instructions on receiving your kit, creating your bandana and what to do once you have it finished. The deadline is July 6th, so you have time to create something amazing! To make it even easier, all you need to create is a texture – the actual bandana is included in the kit! And there is a link to a tutorial on how to do it, so there really is no excuse not to!

For the second year, I will be contributing my own bandana to benefit Wigs for Kids. Nope, I’m not a designer, but if even a few of you take pity on me and make a purchase (still only 50L each – what a bargain!), it will help this marvelous cause that little bit more.

I am even giving you a sneak peek of my creation – look out for it at the Bandana Day booths that will be found on each sim!

I have taken a lot of photos in the last week. I mean, a lot, for me. Normally because work has me exhausted by the time I get home Monday through Friday, I rarely get into Second Life, so my weekends are catch up time for my blog. However, with two big events running right now – Vintage Fair and The Liaison Collaborative – I’ve been excited to shoot all of the beautiful items and have been pushing myself to go beyond the usual two or three photos I normally produce.

That being said, I still get a bit overwhelmed and sometimes resort to using my favourite location, rather than creating my own set. So yesterday, after having done three shoots already, I wandered over to Furillen to gather a bit of inspiration to soldier on.

Now, I hadn’t planned on using the billiard table when I arrived (in fact, someone else was there and leaning against it when I wandered into the room), but when he left, I scurried back down to claim my spot. I have done some serious (temporary) derendering in the room to create a more open space, but rest assured, all of Serene’s painstaking decorating will be there when I return.

This outfit just screams femininity. But one of the greatest attributes of any woman is to be able to combine her womanliness with a bit of the vamp. What says that more than an alluring pose on a billiard table? 😉

After the cut, I’ll give you a close-up of the hair, fascinator, necklace and bodice of the dress. They are definitely worth the extra look.
