I logged in to Second Life yesterday, and while sorting through inbound goodies, I stumbled upon a notecard.

Congratulations!! You have been nominated for a 2017 BVN Blogger and Vlogger Award in the following categories:

♥♥ Best Female Fashion Blogger

To say that I was stunned and honoured is an understatement of epic proportions. While I have been nominated for awards in the past, I was especially humbled by these nominations because I have had some real life issues in the last year which have affected my ability to blog. Without going into detail, it is harder and harder for me to compose and edit photographs. I still find pleasure in blogging, though, so I will continue as long as I feel I can do justice to the works of the wonderfully talented creators of Second Life. One day I will come to the decision that I no longer feel my work is up to my own standards and I will retire. I probably won’t stop taking photos; I just won’t publish them.

The categories for which I was nominated are tabulated votes by the judging panel. In other words, you won’t be able to vote for me yourself. However, there are several other categories that are eligible for public vote. I encourage you to visit the BVN website and cast your votes for some extremely talented vloggers and bloggers. Winners will be announced at our Bloggies Ceremony on October 14, 2017 at 12:00 pm (noon) SLT.

Between September 15th and September 30th, we will be opening the ballots to allow people to vote for all categories. Please encourage your friends and followers to vote on the BVN website before September 30th. The following image is attached for your convenience. Feel free to use it on your blog, social media pages, and anywhere else you would like to spread the word.

The ballot is restricted to logins only to avoid multiple votes from the same individual. Please be sure to log in to your google account before accessing the form. BVN does not gather nor retain your login credentials.

Five awards will be voted on or selected by a panel of experts. These include:

I am sitting here typing this truly in appreciation and wonderment; appreciation for all of my readers and wonderment that you thought enough of my work to recognise me. This isn’t an unfamiliar sight at my place. Curled up with a book while my cat cuddles me. The only difference is that’s a Kindle instead of an actual book, but that’s a minor point.

The theme for the September round of The Liaison Collaborative is “Literary-ly”. There are loads of reading-inspired items available. Some, like the pose set from Le Poppycock are more literal, while others, such as my gown, earrings and rings are inspired more figuratively. All are delightful; all are divine.

I have to say, though, that my favourite item from this round is the Rose LeLutka Applier from *Birth*. I know I said just a few days ago that I had found my new look, but then I tried on this skin. New. Instant. Fave.

I have long been a fan of *Birth*, and this new release is a classic example of why. Beautiful texturing and tone, great lip, eyeliner and makeup options, and just so lovely. I think I’m as pretty as a picture in this skin.

I’m perfectly poised in it, just like my literary kitty.

Cherry Picking

I really don’t like cherries. To eat, that is. But I am drawn to them as decoration; whether as a print on a dress or rings for my ears. Appropriately, the pair I am wearing is from (Yummy) and is a part of the final BishBox. And since I am showing off my bum, it is only appropriate I do it in the recent Tinker Set release from Blueberry. I seem to have a fruit-flavoured theme going here!

I hadn’t mentioned it before, but I recently switched mesh heads from Catwa Lona to May by .LeLutka.. I have always loved the HUD for LeLutka mesh heads, but I kind of stuck with Lona after it was released at Skin Fair. I finally got around to visiting the LeLutka main store and demoing her latest releases. I narrowed my choices to Greer and May, but something about this head just seemed right for me. I had a few appliers and skins for LeLutka, but I wanted something new. I tried several new appliers, but the one that really caught my eye was Jean by itGirls, currently available at Uber. One tip I want to pass along when trying a new skin designer is always try the head applier with the body demo, as well. I really didn’t think Jean would work for me before I matched it with the body applier.

That, my dear friends, gave my new look the cherry on top.
