Cherry Picking

I really don’t like cherries. To eat, that is. But I am drawn to them as decoration; whether as a print on a dress or rings for my ears. Appropriately, the pair I am wearing is from (Yummy) and is a part of the final BishBox. And since I am showing off my bum, it is only appropriate I do it in the recent Tinker Set release from Blueberry. I seem to have a fruit-flavoured theme going here!

I hadn’t mentioned it before, but I recently switched mesh heads from Catwa Lona to May by .LeLutka.. I have always loved the HUD for LeLutka mesh heads, but I kind of stuck with Lona after it was released at Skin Fair. I finally got around to visiting the LeLutka main store and demoing her latest releases. I narrowed my choices to Greer and May, but something about this head just seemed right for me. I had a few appliers and skins for LeLutka, but I wanted something new. I tried several new appliers, but the one that really caught my eye was Jean by itGirls, currently available at Uber. One tip I want to pass along when trying a new skin designer is always try the head applier with the body demo, as well. I really didn’t think Jean would work for me before I matched it with the body applier.

That, my dear friends, gave my new look the cherry on top.

I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

BishBox, a themed subscription box for the edgier women of Second Life has had some great themes since it began several months ago. I have to say, though, that the July box is my very favourite. The “Femme Fatale” theme is right in my wheelhouse and I love the slightly glamourous, slightly mysterious, totally sexy items.

As soon as I saw the scarf and sunglasses from (Yummy), I knew I had to create my style around them. This classically sexy dress from VARONIS, also from BishBox, was perfect for the look I wanted to create. I felt like a 50’s movie starlet as soon as I slid it on! In all honesty, I probably should have found a convertible and shot the photo flying down the highway, but 1.) That would have taken the focus away from my outfit and 2.) That’s a LOT of work! Instead, I wandered around the LEA sims (Linden Endowment for the Arts) and stumbled upon One Tree Hill (LEA7). This is a lovely sim, inspired by the album The Joshua Tree by U2. Through vignettes and signage, the creator tells the story of the songs. It is a nice place to wander, listen to the fantastic album via the in-world stream and just chill.

It worked for the photo, but I still want that convertible. It seems I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.

Exit This Way

The June edition of BishBox is out with a theme of “Rock Rebel”. This round is as edgy as always, with a great selection for the fashion-forward female of Second Life.

Better associated with jewelry, MINIMAL offers a great tank top, well-rigged for the Maitreya Lara body. (Yummy) gives you a tough-chick choker and DAPPA fits the theme with the Misfit Tattoo. The ponytail from [NANI] gives you an “I don’t give a damn”, no-nonsense look that works perfectly with the Rebel set with poses from Come Soon Poses.

Head for the exit. It’s time to start rocking.
