Curtain Call

I may be getting ahead of things, since Skin Fair 2017 has just begun, but all of the designers will be deserving of multiple curtain calls once the event closes on March 26th. They have truly outdone themselves, with stunning skins, tattoos, makeup appliers and mesh head releases. After the cut, I’ll give you more information to prepare you for one of the biggest events of the Second Life year, including sim maps and SLurls to the fair.

Before I do that, I wanted to make sure that some other releases weren’t lost in the shuffle of Skin Fair. Collabor88 is spectacular this month, with warm and wonderful designs from the top creators in SL. I could live in these leg warmers from fri.day at the event. With autumn upon us in Australia and winter looming, they will surely become a staple in my wardrobe.

The Liaison Collaborative is up and running with their 4th birthday round. There are some beautiful home and garden items in this round and many of the designers have put out birthday gifts – yours for the taking. Do make sure you visit.

Winter Warmers

Out for a walk, I am all bundled up in layers. You have seen the coat I am wearing before, in a different colour. I just love this sweet, swingy coat from neve, which is available at The Liaison Collaborative until December 30. So you’d better hurry to get yours!

On my legs I am wearing the beautiful Callie boots from fri.day for the December round of Uber. Check out the detail! The rawhide string that wraps around the heel and the tiny little bow at the back are just the kind of things that set these boots apart. They also come with optional socks (with a colour-change HUD) that give these boots even more versatility. Oh, and as a bonus, the boots alone fit perfectly over the standard length Cake Leggings from Blueberry and with the socks, they work with the over boot version! Since virtually every female on the grid owns these leggings, Callie is a must-have for mixing and matching to set you apart.

Bundle up, stay warm and enjoy the cold weather for me. We’re heading into a heatwave in the next few days and I would love to be pulling on my winter warmers instead.

Today I am featuring the last release of the year for Salt & Pepper, and it’s a group gift! This babydoll shortie is just the best mix of sweet and sexy with the lacy, see-through bodice and your choice of either an opaque or sheer skirt. It also comes in four different colours, courtesy of a HUD. If you’re not already a member, you can join at the main store. I believe there is a fee, but Salt has some really good gifts so it is worth the investment and a group slot.

The other thing I’m kind of excited about is my new set of hands from VISTA. They are Bento compatible, so I can wiggle my fingers, check my nails and perhaps (with the right animations) digitally show my opinion of less than savoury behaviour 😉 I don’t have that animation yet, but I’ll be on the lookout for it.

I decided to take my first venture into Bento with the hands when I saw that *League* had released appliers for them. You will need the Omega applier for the hands, but you can “handily” purchase it right next to the vendor at Vista (see what I did there? That one’s for you, Wendz!) I haven’t decided whether or not to go with a Bento head yet; I played around with the Catwa demo but couldn’t quite settle on a shape, despite about an hour fiddling with sliders. I’m sure I will make the switch, but like with my first mesh head, I won’t rush into it. I love Tumble, so I am content to stick with it for the time being. That demo is still tucked away in my inventory, though, so when I have some time during the holidays I’ll be sure to play around with it a bit more.

I’m not sure if I’ll be posting again before Christmas, so in case I don’t, have a wonderful holiday.
