Here is wishing everyone a happy 2016. I hope your year is full of joy and prosperity, health and good cheer. Thank you for stopping by this little space of mine; I really have enjoyed sharing my Second Life with you and getting to know those of you who have struck up a conversation on your visits.

I usually do a “year in review” post about this time, but instead, this year instead of an evaluation of the past, I’m going to focus on watching the new year begin.

Contemplation

1 Contemplation

I am not making any new year resolutions. I haven’t in several years. If I need to make a change in my life, I will do it when I am motivated personally; not by the turning of the calendar page.

That doesn’t stop me from taking some time for contemplation. I have a couple of weeks off work, so the downtime is conducive to evaluation. Through the rest of the year, I’ve rarely had more than a long weekend, so some quiet time is nice. It also allows me to think about more than just commuting, working and preparing for the next work week.

I am only four days in, and already I am feeling a bit at loose ends. The flurry of holiday prep and deadlines are over, as is the latest flurry of blogging commitments I have had. It is a bit of a luxury to be able to do whatever I choose to do without a sense of obligation, in both worlds.
