My Wifey, Cyn, surprised me yesterday. She messaged me to see how I was doing (I’ve been fighting a virus for a week) and then told me she had something for me. Of course, that perked me up because I love pressies! I’ve mentioned before that Cyn is a designer in Second Life, so when she dropped a new dress on my head I was excited. And then I saw the name – PEEPS PINK – and I totally SQUEEEEED!

As she wrote on her IMPULSE by Cyn Facebook page:

I’ve been told before I need to do more colors and get away from black. but I love black!! Still I’ve tried to do more colors. My wifey (Peeps) says more PINK!! Wifey likes flowers too.. So I’m making this dress and its got PEEPS written all over it.. done in flowers and pastels… including PINK!! So…. I named this one after her. And had to do a black one for more MY style :p ♥ ya wifey!!

So, naturally, I had to drag her over to shoot photos, me wearing the PEEPS PINK version and my wifey wearing the PEEPS CYN version (black, of course!) I can’t even tell you how much I laughed while trying to adjust the dress so that my bits weren’t showing! “Spread em, Wifey! Cleavage and buoyancy are your friends!” were just a couple of the encouraging comments my oh-so-helpful Wifey gave me as I giggled until I nearly cried. “I’m used to raising and lowering them but I don’t spread ’em for just anyone, ya know,” was my reply. And I have to admit, I don’t let just anyone touch my cleavage, but Cyn was right…down and out a little and this little maneuver had my rosy bits hiding like a candy egg on Easter Sunday!

I have to say I took the photos rather hurriedly since Cyn and I wanted to get to my bubby’s (her boyfriend’s – yeah, I know…only in Second Life could my wifey be dating my brother!) DJ set, so I didn’t snap any photos of the back. We are showing only two of the seven colours available at her mainstore: pink, blue,lavender, peach, lime, white and black.

I slipped out of the dress to head to The River to watch Bubby DJ, but I’ll be showing it off tonight when I DJ my set there from 12-3am – with my Wifey in the front row, showing everyone she is PEEPS CYN.

♥ you Wifey…I have never had a better marriage-by-titler-while-my-back-was-turned in my life. And no, you CAN’T divorce me! 😉

The sun has set on Australia on the day of the Race That Stops The Nation. The Melbourne Cup, Australia’s premier horse race is an event which finds Melbourne (and much of Victoria) taking a holiday for the race and most businesses across the country coming to a standstill while the race is run. It’s a day where ladies turning out in their finery, complete with hats or fascinators, are as much an institution as the race itself.

Today’s race was won by Fiorente, a stallion ridden by a male jockey, but he was trained by Gai Waterhouse – the first Australian woman to train a Melbourne cup winner.

I had joked earlier in the day that I needed to find a hat so I could do a Melbourne Cup post, but I really hadn’t planned on following through. That is, until I received this dress and knew it was perfect for a garden party – or the social event of the Melbourne Cup Spring Carnival. So, hat shopping I went, since a girl can’t show up with her head bared for this party.

Not every day is Race Day, and not every day do you have a chance to cross the line with a dazzling frock like this.

Cuddle up in this snuggly cardigan on an autumn afternoon and you’ll be sexy and cozy all at once. Since it’s spring in Australia, I decided to forego anything underneath (why not show off a pair…um, of seasons’ fashion at once?) With the loose weave, it can work for either one.
