It is New Year’s Eve and a day to reflect on the year that has passed. For me, it has been a tumultuous year with lots of lows interspersed with a few highs. In terms of my real life I have seen so many changes that I am still attempting to process and come to terms with them. As for Second Life, it has been a better year, largely because of this blog.

And the person most responsible for it is My Cherished, Tylar. I chose to lead this post with this photo because it was largely her encouragement that led me to opening my photography business, which in turn led to this little publication that has become not just a showcase for my photographs, but also an exploration of my life in and out of Second Life. My Cherished, thank you for believing in me, standing behind me and for sharing so many of your wonderful qualities with me.

The rest of this story will be a taste of some of my favourite photos and posts. Some of them may not make a lot of sense to you; you won’t necessarily see only the best photos in terms of composition and technique. But each one of these holds a special place in my heart for one reason or another. This is going to be a long one, so if you aren’t inclined to spend a large portion of your day reminiscing with me, I wish you a happy and healthy New Year and I’ll see you on the other side.

I took this photo looking out of the upper window of the Scarlet Apple Neva Captain’s House. It was a gift from my friend, Rwah. I landed there on accident. Well, actually, since there is no direct access to the upper level, I had to get up there. After floating/flailing for several minutes and double-click TPing multiple times I managed to land in front of the window. For in a seafarer’s cottage that window must be accessible – so the captain’s love can watch for his return.

There will be more, Rwah. Thank you for this wonderful gift ❤

My Impulsive Wifey

My Wifey, Cyn, surprised me yesterday. She messaged me to see how I was doing (I’ve been fighting a virus for a week) and then told me she had something for me. Of course, that perked me up because I love pressies! I’ve mentioned before that Cyn is a designer in Second Life, so when she dropped a new dress on my head I was excited. And then I saw the name – PEEPS PINK – and I totally SQUEEEEED!

As she wrote on her IMPULSE by Cyn Facebook page:

I’ve been told before I need to do more colors and get away from black. but I love black!! Still I’ve tried to do more colors. My wifey (Peeps) says more PINK!! Wifey likes flowers too.. So I’m making this dress and its got PEEPS written all over it.. done in flowers and pastels… including PINK!! So…. I named this one after her. And had to do a black one for more MY style :p ♥ ya wifey!!

So, naturally, I had to drag her over to shoot photos, me wearing the PEEPS PINK version and my wifey wearing the PEEPS CYN version (black, of course!) I can’t even tell you how much I laughed while trying to adjust the dress so that my bits weren’t showing! “Spread em, Wifey! Cleavage and buoyancy are your friends!” were just a couple of the encouraging comments my oh-so-helpful Wifey gave me as I giggled until I nearly cried. “I’m used to raising and lowering them but I don’t spread ’em for just anyone, ya know,” was my reply. And I have to admit, I don’t let just anyone touch my cleavage, but Cyn was right…down and out a little and this little maneuver had my rosy bits hiding like a candy egg on Easter Sunday!

I have to say I took the photos rather hurriedly since Cyn and I wanted to get to my bubby’s (her boyfriend’s – yeah, I know…only in Second Life could my wifey be dating my brother!) DJ set, so I didn’t snap any photos of the back. Click on the link to her Facebook page or hop on over to her store to see the sweet V-shaped back with horizontal straps and the peek-a-boo hole that shows off the small of your back. We are showing only two of the seven colours available at her mainstore: pink, blue,lavender, peach, lime, white and black.

I slipped out of the dress to head to The River to watch Bubby DJ, but I’ll be showing it off tonight when I DJ my set there from 12-3am – with my Wifey in the front row, showing everyone she is PEEPS CYN.

♥ you Wifey…I have never had a better marriage-by-titler-while-my-back-was-turned in my life. And no, you CAN’T divorce me! 😉
