Just when I thought I was completely over the flu, I got hit with it again. This is a very nasty strain that seems to cycle back and just torment you with a sore throat, headache and rumbling cough. I can say, unequivocally, that I am over it.

Over having it; not actually over it. So I am dosing myself with loads of tea with honey and lemon and resting as much as possible. Thanks to [ keke ], I can serve up my tea in style with this weekend’s 50L special, the “hard to find set” in blush. This is an amazing bargain, with eight pieces in a lovely shade for one small price.

Autumn Comes

While I have been doing the credits for this post, the hour has grown later on Friday in Second Life. My apologies, but that means you have just a short while to get to the {what next} main store to pick up one of two autumn-themed boxes. One contains various versions of the lovely wreath I am displaying. The other holds decorative mini trees, leaves and welcome mats. Winter Thorn does autumn beautifully, so do go check out these fabulous bargains.

Speaking of bargains, Kean Kelly of [ keke ] has released recolours of one of my very favourite items ever: the rainy day table lamp. This weekend only, they are available at the main store for only 50L. I am showing the orange, but it also comes in black, white and purpur (a gorgeous pinkish-purple). At that price, there is no reason not to get all four! While you are there, go ahead and browse. Her store is one of those where you walk in to buy one thing and come out with your partner’s arms full, a U-Haul filled and your wallet happily empty.

However, you may want to hang onto a few Lindens for Shiny Shabby, which opens on September 20. There you will find [ keke ]’s Nirvana set. The complete set contains 34 pieces of wonder. From chairs to poufs, to decorative cards to incense, you will have to have them all. I’ll be showing you more of this set in the next few days, but trust me – you will waiting in anticipation for the event to open.

And then there is The Liaison Collaborative which remains open until September 30th. I am featuring a variety of gacha prizes from Serenity Style, Bee Designs and [Black Tulip] plus the gorgeous desk from [ zerkalo ], all from this round of TLC. While there are still a couple of weeks before the event closes, your best bet is to go now so you don’t forget!

Finally, the September round of Luxe Box released earlier today, and as always, it is full of stunning items. I love the fashion, but to me the real stars are the Kaelyn Pleiades Cabin from Scarlet Creative and the evelyn daybed from tarte.. Put everything together and you have the perfect, cozy cabin, ready for when autumn comes.

You Had Me At Coconut Cream

I used to bake a lot of pies. I have a crummy oven now, so I rarely make them any more, but I always loved making my own pie crust, then filling it with something yummy. Toasted coconut flakes atop a pale vanilla custard, brimming with more of those delicious morsels – no meringue – in a buttery, flaky pastry shell. I can taste it now, if I close my eyes and shut my mouth (to prevent drooling down my chin).

I was so excited to see the latest release from {what next} for Collabor88. The “Patisserie” Kitchen Decor set is a baker’s delight. As usual, each item comes with texture-change options and unbelievably, each one weighs in at only one Land Impact each. I remember the days when a single table setting gobbled up 20 or more prims. With this set you can get your bake on with the full set for a grand total of only five LI!

If you need a place to display all of these goodies, head over to the Kuro main store for this pretty and practical kitchen. The timing couldn’t be better.

I may just whip up a batch of pie crust later. Writing about coconut cream pie is causing my tummy to growl. More likely, though, I’ll just see how well my memories satisfy my craving…then head to the bakery for a second-rate version I can critique with the hauteur of true Baking Queen.
