Dina

Dina contacted me after she saw another client’s photos. She was so excited, we didn’t even set up a confirmed time for her appointment! But we managed to connect the following day, and I met her for the first time when she arrived at my studio.

When I saw her, the first thing I thought was how dramatic her photos would be with her bright, white hair. I found myself focusing on that as I shot her photos. I wanted to show off her sensuality, but also bring in an element of softness.

It’s always harder for me to photograph someone I don’t know. I am a “mood photographer”, and sometimes I have to just go with the feeling I get from someone I haven’t spent time with. I hope I have captured the essence of what makes Dina who she is.

Single Frame Stories: Weapon – When She’s Smiling

1 Weapon03

There is no weapon in the feminine armory to which men are so vulnerable as they are to a smile.
~ Dorothy Dix

I’m not a big weapon person. I learned to shoot a shotgun when I was young because my Dad believed if there was one in the house, we should know how to use it. I never did, beyond my lessons. I don’t role play in Second Life (although I did have a brush once with James Bond and a zombie or two), so my choices were limited for a prop for this week’s Single Frame Stories prompt: Weapon.

So I turned to the best thing I had in my arsenal: my smile 🙂

Molto Bella

Beautiful. Lovable. Intelligent.

These are all meanings of the name “Bella.” And they suit this Bella completely.

At Easter, I sponsored a contest at Breaking The Rules, the club where I work. The theme was, fittingly, I thought, “Best in Peeps.” The winner received a photo shoot with me and a three-photo pack. Because of the differences in our time zones, we just managed to complete the shoot this week.

The results…well, you tell me what you think.
