This is the type of scene that I miss most, living now in Australia. I am heading for my seventeenth Christmas down under, and it just doesn’t feel like the same holiday that it was in the USA. The cold air, warmed by a crackling fire, hot chocolate and the memories as each precious ornament is unwrapped, dusted off and placed lovingly on the tree. Cramming the living room with so many beautiful, shiny things that it is an adventure to get from one side of the room to the other.

Christmas on the beach? No thank you.

At least in Second Life, with the help of some fabulous creators, I can recreate the nostalgic feelings of those Christmases gone by.

Getting Ready

When getting ready to go out, it is important to plan. Start with a tidy room, your clothes laid out and of course, a couple of cocktails for your preparations!

Warm Animations has released the Modest Bed at the current round of Shiny Shabby. It is a simple mattress bed with a snuggly comforter, which disappears when you sit or lie on the bed. It is available with either PG or Adult animations so you can decide exactly how modest you want to be.

The build I am using is actually a shop from L2 Studio. I have been itching to decorate a new house and I wanted something a bit more modern, yet simple. The open plan of this build suits a home as much as a business and the stone floors, just itching for throw rugs, suits my style. There is a garden terrace that will become a second living area – perfect for sunbathing or snuggling under the stars. It is a work in progress and I’m excited to have a new home project to work on.

The Cat Cafe is very exclusive – reservations required! I’m going to try to slip in with my panda socks from Apple May Designs, found at ULTRA through December 15th. If that doesn’t work, I’ll try to sneak in the back door; the clientele is a who’s who of the the poshest pusses!
