I have never seen the movie “Twilight”, but “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri is one of those songs that needs no reference to the film to be beautiful and haunting. It touches me and that is all that matters.

When I saw the announcement for the Hair Fair 2014 Photo Contest I wanted to enter. The theme is Music, so although I rarely enter contests this is one I wanted to do.

This isn’t my first attempt. I have done three different photos – the first one before I remembered I needed to include an inspiration song, so that one won’t see the light of day. The second one used a different tribute song, but I just can’t seem to get right. I’ll keep going back to it in the next few days to see if I can make it work.

The photo for the contest needs to be “a tribute to hair that you love.” Does this photo do this? I’m not sure. All I know is that when I wear it I feel delicate, feminine and vulnerable, yet strong and brave. That is what this song is about to me…to open your heart to someone fully takes strength while exposing yourself to a thousand years of potential heartache.

1 A Lovely Day For Ducks

It is a few days before The Garden at The Liaison Collaborative opens, so I’ve got a sneak peek of this adorable outdoor shower from Kuro. It comes in a choice of blue or yellow with PG and Adult versions available.

Since I didn’t want to share myself in the all together, I found a couple of friends to model for me. Not only can they bathe in their clothes, they don’t seem to mind showering during a cloudburst 😉
