1 Cleo Design From My Country

As I promised a few days ago, there is a lot more to be found during The Challenge this month. I immediately fell in love with the Turkish items from Cleom Bailey’s home country. All of these items – and many more – are available individually at Cleo Design. The textures are rich and the detail is lovely.

My favourite reading pose ever can be found in the ottoman sofa. I have found myself in this position before while waiting to go out, wanting to relax but not have to kick off my boots. We can’t be dirtying up the upholstery, can we? 😉

I am totally delighted with these items and since they are sold separately, you can mix and match the pieces that catch your fancy.

New-to-me Meme: Time To Have Fun

I am going to admit that I am not very imaginative. When Strawberry Singh’s Monday Meme came out this week I had to stop and think a bit. She has asked that we blog something we haven’t blogged before. So I set about to figure out what I could do that I hadn’t already done. I have done fashion posts, home & garden, landscape & location shoots, reviews, tutorials, commentary and even real-life photos. I was kind of stumped for what I could do.

That pretty much left me with a bottle of peroxide.

It is only as I am sitting here, writing the actual post after having shot and processed the photo, that I remembered that I have blogged myself as a blonde – and even for another challenge (insert blushy face here). I went blonde when I created my movie poster meme several months ago – one of my favourite challenges ever. I was also a male in that photo, another thought I had but eliminated since I had already shown my masculine side. I just didn’t recall that I had gone blonde for the other half of that picture. So I’m going to discount it, since I wasn’t really me in that shot – I was Meg Ryan.

I have always said I have a recessive blonde gene, so I am going to use that as a defense and go ahead and post this 😀

22769 ~ [bauwerk] & &Percent

This month the theme for The Challenge is “From Your Country” and it has spawned some really fun new stuff! I am showing off a couple of different designers here and stay tuned for more.

Today I am highlighting the beer garden from 22769 ~ [bauwerk] and the bourbon barrel table set from %Percent. The beer garden, which represents Paco Pooley’s home of Germany comes complete and is loaded with details. From the weathered containers that form the service area to the benches and tables, the “PacoCola” drink cooler and menu it is perfect for setting up for a casual get together with friends. There is even a coffee maker for those who might have imbibed a bit much and need to sober up a bit before venturing home 😉

1 Bourbon Table Set &Percent

Plato Novo has brought a touch of her old Kentucky home from the United States in the form of the bourbon table set. She has created the stools and table from the parts of a bourbon barrel and even developed her own brands of bourbon as decorative and useful props! In addition to the bottles and drinks that decorate the table, you can receive a menu of drinks and props to enhance your experience. It is not just bourbon-inspired cocktails – you can also choose to have a cigar or cigarette to go along with your aperitif. Since I set this up in an outdoor venue, you are allowed 😉

The beer garden is sold as a complete set and you can purchase the bourbon table set or the stools separately. Each stool is different, so you can mix and match to your heart’s content.

All that is missing is the scotch, or we’d have a perfect setup for a George Thorogood classic!
