Staring Down A Songbot

1 Immersiva by Bryn Oh_001

I’m not quite sure what it is about Bryn Oh’s Immersiva sim that keeps drawing me back. It’s a bit surreal and other-worldly – not the kind of place a down-to-earth gal like me normally chooses as a hangout spot. Maybe it’s just the sheer creativity or the fact that I’ll discover something new to capture my fascination on each visit. Whatever the reason, I found myself back there a couple of days ago.

I had seen this statue – the Vera Lynn Singbot – before. In fact, she is featured on the Destination Guide page for this sim. However, where I had just wandered past her before, giving her a wink and a nod, on this trip she seemed to call to me to stop for a visit. So, with my faithful Cyber Ducky as my companion, we settled in for a little visit.

As the thunder rolled and the raindrops pattered around us, she sang to us her lovely song. No, I don’t know the tune, but I probably should. Instead of worrying about it, I just stood, transfixed, as she poured her melody into the rain.

And I learned one thing – songbots never blink.

Single Frame Stories: Pot – The Escape

Single Frame Stories: Pot - The Escape

Oops. I’ve kind of slacked off on doing a post for Single Frame Stories the last couple of weeks. Even if they were delayed. I just couldn’t come up with anything that wasn’t obvious. Yeah, a bit of that block that prompted me to take a vacation from blogging for a few days struck me hard.

But this week, the prompt is “Pot”. I immediately thought of this little fella and how I would hate to see him dancing on a flame. So I engineered his escape 😉

Dedicated to My Cherished, Tylar, who rocks the teapot like nobody else!

Weekly Photo Challenge: The Golden Hour – The Suns Slowly Fades In All Of His Glory

Sunset over New Polebarkia

I was happy to see this week’s photo challenge, “The Golden Hour”, since I have been doing a lot of sunrise and sunset photos lately. Living on an island makes that a no-brainer. And with unlimited windlight settings, it is easy to create the golden hour, regardless of the time of day. Cheating, maybe, but that is one of the perks of inhabiting a virtual world. So sue me 😉

I took this shot looking west from outside our home. While I love the coolness of the sunrise, it is the glorious warmth of a sunset that speaks to me most. The glow of the sun reflected on the clouds and the water is a reminder to me of the accomplishments of the day. But it is also an admonition that when tomorrow comes, it will be time to forget the achievements of yesterday and make our mark – no matter how lofty or simple – in the dawning of a new day. As the sun rises again to travel his path toward the fading of his glory once more, make the most of whatever your goals may be.
