This is going to be a very quick post today. I just thought I would share a bit of the torture I have been subjecting myself to.
Yep, I’ve been doing tutorials in Photoshop. Again.
I did the above photo and liked it ok, but I thought it would be fun to try out the tutorials I have been messing around with on selection techniques. I did the original capture, planted it on a background and the shadow which I had preserved from my original shot just didn’t work. So I fooled around with the image and came up with this:
I may actually like the original better. I’m still deciding. But I wanted to have you share my pain.
I’m just nice like that 😉

I like both pics. I do wonder how you get that shadow so perfect. I like the second one as well, gives you endless options to ‘place’ your avi.
The original shadow is from the windlight setting. Don’t ask which one for sure, but it’s probably one of Berry’s that I downloaded. But yeah, this was an exercise more than trying to make a purty picture 😀
I have braved an android phone and new computer with windows 8 recently so next on my ‘to-do list’ is learning how to install windlight settings. One day I’ll grow up and figure it all out 🙂

yeah but Windows 8 is truly a booger. I’d suggest downloading the windows 8 “shell” software so you can “revert” back to windows 7 and then when you’re finished just remove the shell. (tho, personally I’d keep the shell since about the only thing windows 8 is good for is touch screens) but thats just my wooden nickle. Excellent on both those pics Peep. Is the second pic a “man made” shadow? I haven’t done one of those in ages. 🙂 great work!

Yes, it’s a “Peep-made” shadow in the second one. I’m still working on getting the perspective and placement right, so having a natural shadow for placement helped.
