I seem to be suffering from Event Overload. It is that time of month where first-of-the month events are now becoming easily accessible and the middle-of-the month events are open. I do have my favourites that I never miss, but new ones pop up all the time to snag my interest.
For those of you who are The Seraphim Social and Serafilms devotees, this round of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe will be the last event until the new year. The brain children behind the amazing Seraphim blog who keep us up to date on events in Second Life are taking a break until next year, when they will be coming back with new events. Be sure to drop by to see all the lovely items inspired by one of my favourite books.
The Theme Park is also open now. With the theme “Some Like It Hot,” it is perfect for those of you in summer and those of us needing a little winter warmer!
And there is another event that has a short run, but is dedicated to helping out a talented creator. I don’t know Ulaa Coronet personally, but I have long been a fan of her *Funky*Junk* brand. < 3 Ulaa is an event that runs from August 14-18 to aid Ulaa in raising the funds to take her son to visit her mother, who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Ulaa hasn’t been able to make the trip to visit her mother since long before her son was born. This trip is not just to introduce a grandson to a grandmother, but a chance for Ulaa to say her goodbyes. It is a sad story, but hopefully we can all help Ulaa’s dream come true. I agree with you Peep, event-overload . Personally I think it’s simply to much and it makes me wonder why some designers still have stores. Either way.. lovely styling as per usual. you look awesome!
I admit I’ve gotten lazy. I would rather go to an event to shop with a lot of different creators than shlep all over the grid from store to store. I would imagine most of the creators who are regulars at the big events make as much (or more) from the events than they do in their mainstores. Maybe that should be a challenge – doing a post using stuff bought only in the actual stores, rather than purchased from an event!
