You know, at the risk of sounding like a complaining old whine-bag, I really loved last week’s meme! Creating a movie poster was so much fun and I was astonished at how many people jumped in and shared theirs, not only on Berry’s blog, but on Flickr and at LEA11!

This week, Berry decided to go a bit easier on us, but there’s always a method behind her madness…she gets to find out all kinds of juicy tidbits about those of us foolish brave enough to take part 😉 Here are the instructions for this week’s cunning attempt to ferret out all the embarrassing goss about ourselves:

Which was the last sim you visited? (Other than your home) Apple Fall, looking for goodies for home.

Does your avatar look like the real you? Only in my dreams 😦 We both have blue eyes and…um…um…two arms and two legs? That’s close, right? Right?? RIGHT???

Do you wear underwear/panties underneath your clothing when out and about on the grid? Yes, unless I put on an old outfit that doesn’t include them. (See below)

If you won a million linden dollars, what would be the first thing you buy inworld? I think I would pay to have all tummy talkers (particularly the ones with spelling and grammatical errors) and talking genitals removed from the grid.

Have you ever bought something in SL and then realized afterwards that you had already owned it from before? More often than I am willing to mention here. *sighs and blushes*

Have you ever done anything in Second Life that would be considered illegal in real life? Illegal is such a harsh word. Although undressing oneself in the middle of a crowded store on a General sim shouldn’t really be considered illegal if one did it by accident…right? Right?? RIGHT??? (See below)

If you could go out on a date with any other avatar, who would it be? Moos Hultcrantz No, I don’t even know him. Yes, I know he’s happily married in RL & SL and I’m in a happy relationship myself, but I’d KILL to pick up a few photo tips from him over a nice Crème brĂťlĂŠe 😉

Who, in your opinion, was the greatest avatar to ever slive? This is a tough one. I don’t get out much. I’m gonna totally fangirl here and say Whiskey Monday because she’s just so friggin’ cute and sweet and talented! Oh…and as a bonus, she’s still aSLive! \o/

What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done inworld? So as not to repeat some of my previous indiscretions (Berry, you really are nosy!), I guess I’ll mention the time I was trying on a demo in a store and when finished, clicked on an outfit in my inventory to replace what I was wearing, so as not to end up naked, only to discover that the dress had broken links and of course, I had created this outfit prior to my undies-wearing days and ended up…yep…bare-butt in the middle of a 50% off sale 😮

If your avatar had a mind of its own, what do you think it would say to you? “I’m glad YOUR closet isn’t as much of a disaster as mine is!”

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, even though I have an alpha under the dress in the photo above that covers all of the bits (and then some), I am wearing the most adorable daisy pasties and thong 😀

The Soul’s Illusions

I mentioned yesterday another spot I loved when I visited Ctrl+Shift+H, and that is Indigo Aviary. I stumbled across the bridge from the Old World part of the sim to be greeted by this proud gatekeeper. It only took a moment for him to assess me as no threat and allow me entry to the garden.

Everywhere I turned in this beautiful courtyard were more flying creatures, mainly birds, but butterflies and dragonflies, as well. I was enchanted.

Inside the aviary there were, of course, more flying friends, plus a lovely fountain and a cozy seating area where you can rest your weary feet and just enjoy the joyful sounds of birdsong.

As time neared when I had to go to work, I ventured out back to share the view of the full moon sparkling on the water. I made a wish on the first star I saw; I wonder if my new friend did, too?

There’s No Place Like Ctrl+Shift+H

If you aren’t a resident of Second Life, you’re probably scratching your head thinking, “Huh?” For those who do inhabit SL, you know it’s a reference to the keyboard shortcut for “Home”. It’s also the name of the sim I visited yesterday, and it is truly lovely.

Originally, I went to Empyreal Dreams with the intent to photograph some of the artwork there. It is an interesting concept, as described on the Destination Guide:

Empyreal Dreams is a collaborative project between two creators based in England and The United States. It aims to visualize famous poems and literature using Second Life as a canvas. A teleportation machine greets the visitor with destinations available to: The Raven, Emily BrontĂŤ’s The Bluebell, The Ancient Mariner and Les MisĂŠrables.

However, once I arrived, I could only find the teleporter to “Les MisĂŠrables”, and while it was an amazing display, I wasn’t the only one who thought so. It was rather crowded, and while I don’t mind sharing my space with others, I didn’t want to have to derender their avatars to keep them from appearing in my photos 😉 Instead, I simply wandered outside…

Empyreal Dreams is housed on the Ctrl+Shift+H sim. The main theme of the sim has an old-world feel, and I was captivated by the gentle music and the lovely build. You can rent space in some of the cottages, if you would like to set up shop there. There was quite a bit of activity on the sim with the explorers of Empyreal Dreams spilling out to ramble about, as I did. I found a spot rather removed from the main area, though, and while I had the occasional friendly passerby speak to me, I was able to grab a few shots. I have to wonder what they thought of this woman flipping through pose after pose, imagining her to be some sort of puppet on a string. Ah, the joys of location photography! Perhaps that’s why they steered clear of the area where I was shooting 😉

I wandered off after a while and found another beautiful, but different, place on this sim and happily snapped away. But I’ll leave that until another post. For now, just enjoy the beauty of Ctrl+Shift+H.
