In The Light Of Their Love

1 Cheri & Tim_024

It has been a while since I blogged any client work. It’s not that I don’t want to show it off; it’s just that I usually have other things to blog and don’t get around to doing it.

A couple of days ago I took photos for a special couple. If you regularly read my blog comments, you will be familiar with the witty and lovely Cheri. She has been following my blog for a while and when she and her sweetheart, Tim, were partnered, she gave me the honour of taking their photographs.

They were a dream couple to work with. Not only did they know which poses they wanted (and told me in advance), they had their outfits ready for quick changes – a major time saver. And they are delightful – funny, sweet and obviously in love.

I have to say the lead photo is one of my all-time favourite photos I have done. The picture stars aligned, I got a great shot and I was inspired when processing. I am normally hyper-critical of my own work, but I am very proud of this one.

This one is a little more formal, but I like the way that Tim is watching over Cheri – obviously with adoration.

I enjoyed my time with Cheri and Tim. They were attentive, relaxed and fun to be around. I wish them happiness and may the light of their love never fade.

T Is For Torch Song

1 T is for Torch Song 01b

It’s quarter to three
There ain’t no one in the place except you and me
So set ’em up, Joe
I’ve got a little story you ought to know

~ Lyrics from “One For My Baby” by Johnny Mercer & Harold Arlen

A smokey bar, a melancholy piano and a beauty singing of lamented love. The perfect recipe for a torch song.

I’m not into fantasy or role play so I don’t usually visit Genre, but when I saw the theme this round was “Big Bands” I had to go. And I am happy I did.

This torch that I’ve found
Must be drowned or it soon might explode
So make it one for my baby
One more for the road
A long, long road

~ From “One For My Baby”

Single Frame Stories – I Believe: Love Is Not A Four-Letter Word

Love is not a four letter word

I’ve been away from Single Frame Stories for a few weeks. I haven’t been inspired with any truly creative interpretations of the prompt word(s) until this round. The prompt is “I Believe”. And taking a look around Second Life lately, that has led me to create this image.

Love is not a four-letter word in the sense that it is not to be taken lightly or in haste. Bandying about the term when you have barely known someone for a week is a curse upon the meaning of the word. I’ve never been a believer in love at first sight. Lust? Sure? Infatuation? Maybe within an hour or so (excluding the times one might be wearing beer goggles). But to love someone you need to know what makes them who they are. You need to understand their warts and idiosyncrasies and still experience that depth of feeling only love can bring.

Love is all of the letters of the alphabet, the words of every language, every story written across all time.

Love is NOT as simple as a four-letter word.
