Meet my new buddy. I call him Roscoe. I think he’s kind of awesome. He’s strong and good looking and doesn’t mind if I lean on him. I think we’ll have a long friendship.

And guess what? You can have Roscoe, too! He’s a gift, along with the pose, at Rhapsody! All you have to do is pop in when it opens and pick it up from the Nani booth in the Country section. They have some adorable country-themed poses and props that I’m itching to try out.

You can also pick up this adorable skirt from Coquet. while you’re stomping around in the Country at Rhapsody. It is uber cute and comes in three different textures. I just love it with my boots and cowboy hat!

Rhapsody opens at noon on June 28th. You can check out the link to the blog for more information and I’ll be sure to update with a SLurl when the the event opens. In the meantime, take a look at the map to get an idea about who is where and what strikes your fancy:

This is a very easy event to navigate. Check out the centre landing area then pick an exit. I suggest allemande left until you do-si-do your way back to the beginning. Nothing to it but to go, shop, and enjoy the event!

Marsha, Marsha, Where’s Alice?

Amazingly, I got another chance to do a shoot with Rwah last night. This time I was only supposed to be the model; I had no plans to actually take photos, having given up on that earlier when my creativity took flight. But Rwah is such a wizard at setting scenes that I couldn’t help but snap off a single shot.

Yep, you read that right – this is the only photo I took. As I explained to Rwah, “Peep Pictaking 101” is to take 20 or more shots using different Windlight settings and hoping for the best. Imagine my surprise when I took a look at this photo and decided it wasn’t half bad.

Perhaps some of Rwah’s magic is rubbing off on me; I have never before been happy enough with a single shot to publish it. A quick tweak to give it a faded Polaroid feel and I was set.

We are showing off the “Wish you were here” house from Scarlet Creative for this month’s Collabor88. While this round of “Milkshakes and Turntables” is more of a 50’s theme, the house reminded us both of The Brady Bunch. I never understood how an architect would build a house that had only two bedrooms for six kids to share, yet could afford a live-in housekeeper.

So in answer to the question, Marsha, Alice is tucked away in her private suite, laughing that you and your sisters are crowded into a single room, fighting over the bathroom with your brothers 😉

Supporting Calas Galadhon

Spring has returned to Calas Galadhon Park so I had to pop over to pay it a visit. Ty Tenk and Truck Meredith never disappoint and the park is as lovely in spring as it was charming in winter.

One thing you may notice on your visit is that the donation kiosks have been changed to reflect a monthly target amount. As of May, Ty & Truck will have to reduce the amount they personally put toward the $1,485 US dollars cost for them to maintain the full 11 sims. Yes, you read that right. That is the total in US dollars they contribute monthly to make the park available to SL residents.

This means, in effect, that if donations don’t meet a certain level, part of the park may have to be closed.

If you visit Calas Galadhon and have a few Lindens to spare, please drop them into one of the kiosks on your favourite sim. Or split it between several sims if you are in love with more than one. They pool the money for the payment, but the donation kiosk you choose will help them decide which sims to keep and which to let go, if it comes to that. Because this park is so special I would hate to see any of it disappear, but as always, real life commitments often get in the way of our Second Life dreams so this decision is completely understandable. I chose this location to photograph because I have always loved this painting, The Singing Butler by Jack Vettriano. Is it my favourite location at Calas Galadhon Park? Well, it is one of many. I made small donations on two of the sims, but I will be going back to add to that total. There are so many delightful spots in the park that I want to help preserve. Please, if you have a preference, head over to help out Ty and Truck. Even if you don’t have a favourite but do have a few extra Lindens tucked away for a rainy day, this is a wonderful way to help support these two people who have given so much beauty to the residents of our virtual world.
