Inventory Meme: Two Peens & A Snake

1 Collab August_022J

Yes, I’m back! I’ve had a virus and I just haven’t felt like going into Second Life OR blogging using some older photos. So rumours of my needing bail have been largely exaggerated 😉

So to try to get back into the swing of things, I’m going to combine my inventory meme with some photos of some of the awesome things to be found at this month’s two-year anniversary round of Collabor88. Yeah, I know, you’ve not seen any of this stuff before (inserts sarcastic wink here). But I’m going to put a bit of a twist on the Serpent HUD poses found at Collabor88. This is one of the sexiest pose props I’ve seen in a long time. I’m not going to paint you a picture of Eve’s temptation, the very phallic symbolism of the serpent or even describe the ripples of chills I felt as this slithering snake wound himself around me…

No, the twist is, I’m clothed.

I’ve seen quite a lot of photos with this fella on Flickr, and they have been almost exclusively nudes. Don’t get me wrong; it works, and from the vendor photos shot by Strawberry Singh for creator Rogan Diesel, that is probably the most relevant application of this series of poses. But dayum! I think it works, even when wearing a little slip of a dress, a boyish haircut and the subtle curves of a woman.

And now, on to the meme!

As long as I have been reading Berry’s blog (about three years now), she has always bemoaned the state of her inventory. And with over 100,000 items, I honestly can’t blame her! So it is fitting that she has chosen this subject – a sore point with a LOT of residents of Second Life.

Here’s what we’re supposed to do:

Meme Instructions: Copy and paste the questions and answers below, delete my answers and input your own. Don’t forget to leave a comment with your link (in this post) so I can come by and read it!

1 What is your current inventory number? – 65,802 (I stupidly checked this after I had nearly bought out Collabor88 and opened everything or it would have been a lot lower. I also forgot to empty my trash 😦 )

2. If you had to delete your whole inventory and could only keep one thing, what would it be? – CD, my Cyber Ducky. Although I don’t wear him often in my blog posts, he was not only a gift from a dear friend, but he is an Ultra Rare item from 7Seas Fishing, so my chances of finding another one are slim to ducking none!

3. What is the last thing you purchased? – The hair I’m wearing in these photographs ( [monso] My Hair – Yong/ Red by Morphine Janick)

4. Which item do you wear most often? – Besides CD, I’d have to say my Amacci Gaze Eyes. I’ve recently been wearing a pair of a similar colour from Mayfly, but I always go back to my Ocean Blues after a couple of days.

5. When you search for the word penis, how many items pop up? (NO LYING!) – Two. One is a penis gun and the other is a photo of a friend wearing a cartoon penis avi. The name of the photo is “My Penis Pic” 😀

So, there we have it. I’m sure you will all sleep easier tonight knowing that my inventory is smaller than Berry’s and I have two peens. And if you hear me talking about a snake in the grass, it’s not my ex – it’s my new writhing, wriggling friend.

I think I’ll name him Dick 😉

Loving Donna Flora

1 Bitcora_008J

This is a little bit fashion, a little bit location and a lot of love for Squinternet Larnia.

I’ve mentioned the Love Donna Flora event a few times – Flat Rod and I went there and of course, my friend Cao is running her own personal auction to benefit Squinternet – but I haven’t directly blogged about this event.

When I went to this event, I was awed by the gorgeous items so many SL designers had donated to assist Squinternet in her fight against breast cancer. Her brand, Donna Flora, is one of the standbys for fashion in Second Life. It is apparent from the turnout that she is well-loved. I don’t know her personally, but I have heard so many stories about her and her battle – for a second time – that I feel compelled to blog about this event.

The link in the opening paragraph is to the Love Donna Flora blog. You can read about her, the event and even leave her a message of support. Whether you know her or not, I have no doubt that any messages she receives will help buoy her spirits as she goes through her treatments.

And now, a bit about the location. I shot the first photo at Bitcora. What drew my attention to it was that it is the homestead sim that was won by the photo contest winner from SL10B. Rather than keeping the sim to him/herself (sorry, I don’t know who the actual winner was), the owner has opened it to the public. Click the link to check it out for yourself.

The outfit, hair, shoes and even Slink nail appliers I am wearing all came from the Love Donna Flora event. The outfit (including necklace, earrings and Lola appliers for those who wear them) is part of a fat pack by Indyra Designs. To be honest, the pink (blush) isn’t my favourite colour in the set, but I wanted to match the Gos shoes. But all of the pastel shades are lovely – very feminine and soft. And I think the sign on the ice cream cart in the photo is a good motto for visiting the Love Donna Flora event – Stop me & buy one!

The amazingly sexy outfit I am wearing in the chair shots is from Gizza, also to be found at Love Donna Flora. It includes the necklace and the headpiece, as well. I just adore the ruffles and as you know, I am not above posting a shameless ass shot 😉

But what the hay…check out the front, too. This outfit just screams “girly”. I have no idea where I’ll wear it, but I guarantee I’ll find somewhere!

The Love Donna Flora event runs through this Sunday, August 11th, so please remember to stop by. As my friend Cao said, you buy clothes – probably from these designers – all the time. Go to the event, check it out and if there is anything you see you love, don’t just stop. BUY.

Remember you’ll be loving Squinternet, as well.

Why Buy The Cao…

1 Being Cao_006

I have a friend who is a Cao. She is a beautiful, smart, funny (retired) model who makes me laugh and cry when I read her blog. From her antics with Spanx to the tales of her Jack Russell Terrorist and her Date Night escapades to her touching, insightful posts about life, love and death, her blog is one I never miss.

As I mentioned, she is a retired model, so her unique shape is sacrosanct. She created it to achieve a look that set her apart in the Second Life fashion world. Couture is not my forte, so while I am unschooled in Second Life modeling practices, I have no doubt it is similar to the stories we hear about RL fashionistas: fiercely competitive with some models doing anything to get ahead. From what I have read in Cao’s blog, there are many models who are friends and friendly with one another – even helpful – but there also those who, sadly, try to sabotage others.

During Hair Fair, Cao – who has been personally touched by the loss to cancer of someone she loved – offered up her shape to the highest bidder, with the proceeds going to Wigs For Kids. During the auction, someone in the modeling community threatened to steal and sell her shape. This upset her on more than one level – yes, her shape certainly assisted her in her modeling career and to see it hawked on Marketplace for sale to anyone with a few Lindens was distressing, but more so it was the fact that this person would potentially take away bidders for her shape and real dollars for this wonderful charity. So she changed the rules – anyone who bid at least 1000L (her original opening bid) would receive a copy of her shape AND she would contribute an additional 10,000L of her own to this cause. And she ended up contributing 56,502L to Wigs For Kids through this unselfish exercise.

Can you see why I love this little Cao? And why I “bought the Cao”?
