Sore Loser

1 QLD SoO Sore Loser

I lost a bet with my friend, Dax, over who would win State of Origin. For those of you who live outside of New South Wales or Queensland, State of Origin is a Rugby League match in which the best players from each state in the NRL (National Rugby League) play for bragging rights. Click the link if you want to find out more. It’s a three-game series, and NSW hasn’t won in seven years. Or is it eight now? I forget; or at least, I try to.

Dax and I don’t gamble for money; we gamble for something more important than that: bragging rights and humiliation of the loser. So, in just a few hours during our set from 2-4 AM on Thursday at Breaking The Rules, I will be sporting the QLD Maroon’s jersey, while Dax makes fun of me in chat and on every mic break. How do I know this? This is the second year in a row we have had this bet. But for two lousy points, a missed conversion, a stupid penalty, Dax would be rocking the Blue tonight. Or at least, he would have had to suffer through extra time.

Yep, he’s going to enjoy this way too much. And I hate that he has bragging rights for another year.

Dammit! I really am a sore loser 😦

My Communications Meme – Hello?

1 Communications Meme

Oh, I blushed a bit when I read Strawberry Singh’s meme today. I have been one of those folks bitching noting that the memes have been tough! However, that hasn’t stopped me from participating. I really look forward each week to see what kind of challenge Berry has set for us. I’ve made some new friends with the bloggers who regularly participate and I’ve learned a lot. My moaning is really just a way of teasing – bring it on, Miss Berry!

This week, she has gone easy on us and asked us to tell about our communications in Second Life.

Meme instructions: Copy and paste the following questions and answers into your post, delete my answers and input your own. All of your answers should reflect your activity within Second Life. Remember to leave your link in this meme’s comments so others can come by and read your answers as well!

Who did you speak to last inworld today? I didn’t actually speak to anyone today. I was in only long enough to shoot the photo for this post. But yesterday, the last person I spoke to was my sister, Maddie.

Who has taught you most about SL? Initially, my friend, Cindy, who helped me learn to navigate SL.

Who do you turn to for help? I really hate asking for help, but when I need a sounding board or a shoulder to cry on, that would be my cherished, Tylar Revestal.

Who is the most entertaining person on your friend list? This is tough, because I have so many entertaining friends. But if I have to pick one, it would be my sister, Abbie 🙂

Do you speak to your SL friends outside of SL? Oh, yeah. My Facebook messages run hot! I also occasionally use skype, but FB is my constant companion.

Are you part of a community or family inworld? I was adopted by Echo & Ryker Darkward and I have, at last count, 11 sisters and three brothers! I’m also a part of a close-knit group of staff at Breaking The Rules.

Are you usually around a lot of people or do you spend most of your time alone inworld? This has changed in the last few months. I used to be rarely seen outside of the club where I work, unless I was shopping or changing clothes. Now, I tend to spend more time alone…playing with poses, shooting photographs at my studio or various locations around Second Life, or (re)decorating our home.

I had to shoot this photo from this particular angle because most of the others showed that I was using a “fruity” phone. Being a ‘droid girl, I couldn’t have that! Someone *cough* would never let me hear the end of it if I showed the logo 😉

Weekly Photo Challenge: From Above – A Bird’s Eye View

This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge is to take a photo from a different perspective – from above. I must say, I spent a lot of time today looking around some amazing places in Second Life, trying to find a shot from above that I thought would be something special. Alas, I was still trying to find the perfect location when it was time to go to work at Breaking The Rules. I hosted my shift, then was hanging out for a while, thinking I needed to go find something for this challenge.

For some reason, I cammed up, and when I looked down, there was the BTR logo in the middle of the dance floor. It was around 2:30am PST (that’s Second Life time), and there were still several people in the club. I snapped off a few shots, threw in a couple of effects, et voila! A bird’s eye view of Breaking The Rules 🙂
