This week’s meme, brought to you by Strawberry Singh, is about why we blog. I’m very new to blogging, so this should be an easy one!
Here are the instructions:
Meme instructions: Copy and paste the following questions and answers to your post, delete my answers and input your own. Try not to swear at Berry in your head for having so many questions this week and donât forget to leave a comment in this memeâs post so others can come by and read your answers as well!
How long have you been blogging? Since January 21, 2013. Wow, that’s three months!
Why did you start blogging? Originally, I started blogging to showcase my Second Life photography.
How many times a week do you post an entry? I do try to blog daily, but I think I’ve missed a few days here and there. I don’t think I’ve blogged less than 6 times a week since I started. Remember, however, I’m a noob at this, so I haven’t had time to go on hiatus yet đ
How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis? Three months ago, I would have said four. Those blogs are by Strawberry Singh, Chic Aeon, Harlow Heslop, and Seraphim (for my shopping fix!) Since I’ve started blogging, I’ve added several more to my list (some you can find in my blogroll). I guess now I’m probably up to about 9 or 10 I at least check a few times a week.
Do you comment on other peopleâs blogs? Yes, but only if I am really inspired or awed by a post. Mainly I comment on Second Life blogs, but since I participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge, I do occasionally comment on the RL blogs I view.
Do you keep track of how many visitors you have? I do. I mainly blog for myself, but it’s encouraging to see that other people seem to want to take a look at what I’m doing. And yes, I, too, giggle at some of the search terms that have led to my blog. Having “peep” in the title and so many tags has led to some…shall we say, interesting…search terms. However, I do think I’m proudest that “best ass in Second Life” led to my blog đ
Did you ever regret a post that you wrote? No, but I’ve got plenty of time for that!
Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog? I think they’re getting there. While I mainly post about Second Life, sometimes my real life mood or events will colour what I write about. And especially, what photos I choose.
Do you blog under your real name? I blog under my “real” Second Life name.
Are there topics that you would never blog about? I don’t have a defined set of no-nos, but I try to keep my blog free from controversy.
What is the theme/topic of your blog? It started out being just about my photography. But as I mentioned before, it is now becoming a glimpse of my Second Life, and to a lesser extent, about me in general.
Do you have more than one blog? If so, why? I can barely keep up with this one!
What have you found to be the benefits of blogging? It’s given me desire to always do better. I work a lot harder on my photographs now that I’m putting them out in the public domain. And it’s given me the ongoing encouragement to continue to build my little photography business in SL. And it’s also inspiring me to try new processing platforms. The photo above is a blend of work I did in both Photoshop and picmonkey. Hey, I’m not THAT confident in PS yet…but I’m getting there!
So, why do you continue to blog? I haven’t had time yet to tire of it!
I do want to thank the people who encouraged me to expand my photography to others and to those who have supported me in this blog. I have several followers who never miss one of my posts, if they can help it. And special thanks to my untiring consultant, who always gives me constructive feedback. You’re the cutest gerb…erm…guinea pig I know! đ
