Sticky Sweet

1 Cupcakes_009

I’m a bad blogger 😦 I missed the Weekly Photo Challenge yesterday and didn’t blog at all. I’m using the fact that I had a roaring headache all day and the cold/flu/ickiness that I thought I was over seemed to have come back. I guess a day of playing couch potato helped though, because I’m feeling much better today.

I did spend part of my slothful time checking out some of my favourite blogs. And of course, this one by Chic Aeon caught my eye – food and fetishes? Hmmm…yeah, that works for me! Certainly, waffles are delectable, but this girl went straight for the cupcakes!

These pose props, part of the SugarRush Calendar set from (*chanimations, are nothing but fun! They are cleverly named (Waffellatio?!, OrangeOrgy and Ice My Berry are just three that had me giggling) and highly detailed with loads of options for utilising the poses. There are even different versions, depending on how much detail you want and how many prims you have to spare. Click the photos for a better view of the amazing detail. You can check out all of the choices in the Main Theatre at (*chanimations.

While I didn’t spring for the full 12-month calendar pack, I did grab another set. But you’ll have to wait until another day to see the other one I chose. Right now, I’m sticky sweet and heading into a sugar coma 😉

What A Surprise!

I’ve spent a LOT of time today on my post for tomorrow (it’s time sensitive, so you’ll have to stay tuned for more details *wink*), but I still wanted to post something today. Since I’ve been playing with Photoshop, I’ve been going through a lot of my old raw shots and screwing them up experimenting with them. I found some photos I shot at Image Essentials. That was a busy week for me, and although I processed a couple of photos and posted them to my Flickr page, I never actually blogged them.

So, since I decided I needed a quick post, I opened up the folder, and to my utter amazement, I found one I liked…that I hadn’t touched in any way! I’ve even left it in it’s original crop.

That made me think of a personal challenge Chic Aeon did a few weeks ago – Just One Shot Revisited. This is a personal challenge she used to do and recently did again. I decided to borrow her challenge to make this entry actually have a theme.

And without further ado, here is my “Just One Shot” photograph.

Oh…while I was uploading this picture, I found the two versions I had previously processed already in my media library. I guess I’d planned on using them, then forgot! But, I still think I like this one better 🙂

I know I’ve mentioned in previous posts that Chic Aeon is one of my favourite bloggers. This is my (pathetic) attempt at honouring her and her fabulous work 🙂

Why Do I Blog? Meme – Well, Why Not?

1 Grrrrr_031PSJA

This week’s meme, brought to you by Strawberry Singh, is about why we blog. I’m very new to blogging, so this should be an easy one!

Here are the instructions:

Meme instructions: Copy and paste the following questions and answers to your post, delete my answers and input your own. Try not to swear at Berry in your head for having so many questions this week and don’t forget to leave a comment in this meme’s post so others can come by and read your answers as well!

How long have you been blogging? Since January 21, 2013. Wow, that’s three months!

Why did you start blogging? Originally, I started blogging to showcase my Second Life photography.

How many times a week do you post an entry? I do try to blog daily, but I think I’ve missed a few days here and there. I don’t think I’ve blogged less than 6 times a week since I started. Remember, however, I’m a noob at this, so I haven’t had time to go on hiatus yet 😉

How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis? Three months ago, I would have said four. Those blogs are by Strawberry Singh, Chic Aeon, Harlow Heslop, and Seraphim (for my shopping fix!) Since I’ve started blogging, I’ve added several more to my list (some you can find in my blogroll). I guess now I’m probably up to about 9 or 10 I at least check a few times a week.

Do you comment on other people’s blogs? Yes, but only if I am really inspired or awed by a post. Mainly I comment on Second Life blogs, but since I participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge, I do occasionally comment on the RL blogs I view.

Do you keep track of how many visitors you have? I do. I mainly blog for myself, but it’s encouraging to see that other people seem to want to take a look at what I’m doing. And yes, I, too, giggle at some of the search terms that have led to my blog. Having “peep” in the title and so many tags has led to some…shall we say, interesting…search terms. However, I do think I’m proudest that “best ass in Second Life” led to my blog 😀

Did you ever regret a post that you wrote? No, but I’ve got plenty of time for that!

Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog? I think they’re getting there. While I mainly post about Second Life, sometimes my real life mood or events will colour what I write about. And especially, what photos I choose.

Do you blog under your real name? I blog under my “real” Second Life name.

Are there topics that you would never blog about? I don’t have a defined set of no-nos, but I try to keep my blog free from controversy.

What is the theme/topic of your blog? It started out being just about my photography. But as I mentioned before, it is now becoming a glimpse of my Second Life, and to a lesser extent, about me in general.

Do you have more than one blog? If so, why? I can barely keep up with this one!

What have you found to be the benefits of blogging? It’s given me desire to always do better. I work a lot harder on my photographs now that I’m putting them out in the public domain. And it’s given me the ongoing encouragement to continue to build my little photography business in SL. And it’s also inspiring me to try new processing platforms. The photo above is a blend of work I did in both Photoshop and picmonkey. Hey, I’m not THAT confident in PS yet…but I’m getting there!

So, why do you continue to blog? I haven’t had time yet to tire of it!

I do want to thank the people who encouraged me to expand my photography to others and to those who have supported me in this blog. I have several followers who never miss one of my posts, if they can help it. And special thanks to my untiring consultant, who always gives me constructive feedback. You’re the cutest gerb…erm…guinea pig I know! 😉
