Logistics And Love

1 Sisters_047JFB

It’s not easy getting five people in three different time zones together in one place at one time, even in a virtual world. But today, Maddie, Mandy, Aqua, Jessy and I did it. Four of my sisters and I finally managed to do what we’ve been wanting to do for weeks, if not months. These aren’t nearly all of my sisters, but it’s the most we’ve gotten together, so we grabbed the opportunity to take our photos.

It was a logistical nightmare, but we didn’t stop laughing the entire hour and a half we spent together. Pose props were uncooperative, hair was in armpits, faces and crotches, heads were swiveling and bobbing, avatars were facing the wrong direction, shoes were put on noob feet and taken off again…pure chaos. And pure fun.

I wouldn’t trade these women I call my sisters for the world.

Creating Kaos

Well, maybe not creating Kaos, but helping him to recreate himself.

Kaos is a good mate of mine. He’s a very direct, in-your-face kind of guy. He’s also a DJ, a musician and a fitness fanatic. He’s a very blokey bloke, with a sharp wit and a keen sense of humour. He comes across to a lot of people as a smartass, but that’s probably because they’re not used to his tell-it-like-it-is personality.

K has been through a lot lately, both in Second Life and real life. Some good, some not so good. But K isn’t one to dwell on the negative. In fact, he hates negativity of any kind, as he will soon tell you. Sometimes he lets himself slip into that space, but it’s not long before he bounces back, sassy as ever.

I’ve recently seen the softer side of K. I won’t say he has a vulnerable side, but he definitely has more facets than an acquaintance or passerby would normally see. When he asked me to redo his profile pictures, he wanted me to show the tougher side, but also the part of him he’s let me see recently. To me, that was his heart – open, caring and mortal, just like the rest of us.

Here you go, K-Hole…these are how I see you. Bad boy with a touch of sensitivity.

I Failed :(

My dear friend Tylar recently updated her look. She asked me to redo her photos, telling me her new look was “harder and bitchier.” So, I went into this photo shoot trying to reflect that change.

Sighs. I couldn’t do it. What I see in Tylar is her caring heart, her ability to always make me smile or laugh and her amazing generosity. I’ve said before I consider myself to be a “mood” photographer. I try to portray what I see in the person I am photographing. And no matter what I did, I couldn’t see past her beauty – inside and out.

I’m going to do a gallery so that I can put up a few photos of her new look without clogging the page. Please feel free to click on the thumbnails to see a larger version.
