I had a dream that I would be a writer. The great American novel, filled with stories of characters that have passed through my life. A story of laughter, love and not a small amount of drama.

Maybe my move to Australia shifted the plot out of my grasp. Too much to fill one book; not enough to drive a sequel.

Instead, I have this blog.

So, I toss the pages into the wind, allowing vignettes of the life I have now to sail free. My hopes and dreams are held close to my heart with glimpses now and then portrayed in each post I write.

Thank you for turning the pages of each new chapter that unfolds.

It has been a while since I blogged any client work. It’s not that I don’t want to show it off; it’s just that I usually have other things to blog and don’t get around to doing it.

A couple of days ago I took photos for a special couple. If you regularly read my blog comments, you will be familiar with the witty and lovely Cheri. She has been following my blog for a while and when she and her sweetheart, Tim, were partnered, she gave me the honour of taking their photographs.

They were a dream couple to work with. Not only did they know which poses they wanted (and told me in advance), they had their outfits ready for quick changes – a major time saver. And they are delightful – funny, sweet and obviously in love.

I have to say the lead photo is one of my all-time favourite photos I have done. The picture stars aligned, I got a great shot and I was inspired when processing. I am normally hyper-critical of my own work, but I am very proud of this one.

This one is a little more formal, but I like the way that Tim is watching over Cheri – obviously with adoration.

I enjoyed my time with Cheri and Tim. They were attentive, relaxed and fun to be around. I wish them happiness and may the light of their love never fade.

1 Berry's Colour Meme

I seem to be doing a lot of blog challenges lately. It’s not that I can’t come up with my own ideas, although it does make it easier to have a ready-made theme. The reason I like challenges is that it brings me together with other bloggers. It gives me a sense of camaraderie with what is a largely solitary hobby. I know a lot of bloggers tend to keep to themselves, myself included. This gives me an opportunity to mix and mingle indirectly.

I am running behind on getting the Monday Meme done, but I try not to miss it. This week is a fun and simple concept: blog about our favourite colour or colour combination. Here is the skinny on what to do:

Meme instructions: Blog a picture of your favorite color or a variety of colors that you like. Don’t forget to leave a link to your post in the comments (of this post) and share your picture in the Blog Memes Flickr Group.

My favourite colour combination is yellow, pink and teal (don’t hate me, Berry, but I couldn’t cheat and leave out the teal!). It is a very happy combo and I always feel quite chipper and springy when I wear it. You will find this combination throughout my home, as well.

I actually would have preferred a softer shade of yellow, but I vowed to stick to what I had in my inventory. I have a ton of yellow clothing items, but finding something to work with the top presented a challenge in its own right. All in all, though, I was pleased with the final result.

Maybe it has something to do with being in Australia; I’m going to blame Mr Jefferson for influencing my choice 😉
